Investigation of transonic aerodynamics on a triple-delta wing in side slip conditions

Abstract The vortex-dominated flow around the triple-delta wing ADS-NA2-W1 aircraft is investigated in order to achieve a better understanding of physics phenomena that occur over particularly at transonic speed condition. Both URANS and scale-resolving DDES have been employed explore range suitability current CFD methods. Spalart–Allmaras One-Equation Model with corrections for negative turbulent viscosity Rotation/Curvature (SA-negRC) close RANS equations, whereas SAneg-based model applied computations. DLR TAU-Code used perform numerical simulations. deficiencies results are illustrated promising improvements reached employing SAneg-DDES method. hybrid method show great advancement prediction multiple-delta by revealing physical aspects which not seen from sufficient accuracy like vortex–vortex interaction shock-vortex interaction. These furthermore explain clear way improved surface pressure coefficient consequently aerodynamic force moment coefficients.
